Boflex Sports Floor - Reference Project
National Sports Centre, (Sport England) Bisham Abbey, Buckinghamshire
A Boflex sports floor, manufactured by BOEN, has been installed at Sport England's National Sports Centre, Bisham Abbey in Buckinghamshire. The impact energy absorbing floor was specified for the Centre's 600m2 multi-function sports hall, currently used predominantly by the National British Judo Academy. It was installed by CFA member and sports floor specialist, Amber Floors of Leeds.
Boflex floors are manufactured by BOEN specifically for use as sports surfaces and conform to BS 7044, DIN V 18032 pt 2 and EN14094. Their engineered 3-layer structure, which is double tongue and grooved on all four edges, delivers supreme dimensional stability. All BOEN's engineered sports floors perform without the development of unsightly gaps, which often occur in solid wood systems. This is due to the combination of their engineered structure and BOEN's unique Connex process where the tongue and groove joints are milled after lacquering, rather than before, to produce a truly tight, barely visible joint.
Other Unique features of Boflex include an advanced built-in shock absorption layer which allows the floor to withstand an almost unlimited load and a special installation kit which means the floor can be fitted quickly and effectively. Boflex is available in a range of species including Beech, Ash, Maple and Oak. It is suitable for both new build projects and for installation over existing floors. It is also compatible with underfloor heating systems.
